4 Steps to Addiction Treatment
Call Us
Call us for a confidential, pre-admission evaluation and, insurance check or self-pay schedule.
Arrange Transportation
Once admission is approved, a friend or family member should drive the patient. If they don’t have a ride, we can pick them up locally. Patients should NOT drive themselves.
Admission and Intake
When the patient arrives, they fill out intake forms and meet with our nursing team for a full medical and mental health check. This helps us create the right treatment plan.
Begin Residential Care
After intake, we begin addiction treatment. The patient receive any medications they need. They are assigned a therapist and start individual and group therapy and addiction begins.
Residential Rehab is Just the Beginning
Recovery from addiction is too important to leave to chance. Getting sober is hard for anyone, and the right support makes all the difference. Our Missouri inpatient rehab provides 24/7 clinical care to help each patient start strong.
In these early days, we learn each person’s needs and build a personalized addiction treatment plan. Inpatient care also helps us diagnose and treat co‑occurring disorders like depression, anxiety, or PTSD, which often appear alongside addiction.
Paradigm Recovery Centers is a true refuge from the storm of addiction. We treat every person in our residential rehab like family.
Our Missouri‑licensed facility is staffed by experienced, compassionate clinicians with decades of combined expertise in addiction medicine and dual diagnosis treatment.

Answers About Residential Treatment
Can we just drive-in and admit to rehab?
To deliver the best quality of care, we are not able to accept walk‑in admissions. We need to understand your needs first and make sure we have the right staff and space ready.
Every admission begins with a quick, confidential pre‑screening call so we can review clinical needs, confirm insurance or payment, and plan a safe, supportive intake.
This helps us make sure our program is the right fit and allows our team to welcome you with the care you deserve.
For emergencies like an overdose, please call 911 right away.Thank you for your understanding.
What if I need alcohol/drug detox first?
If you use daily, feel sick when you stop, or notice withdrawal symptoms like shaking, sweating, nausea, severe anxiety, or trouble sleeping, you may need medical detox before starting residential treatment.
Paradigm Recovery Centers can help you set up detox with our local Missouri partners. When you’re ready, you can transfer straight into our residential program. Your Admissions Coordinator will walk you through everything during your screening call.
Some withdrawals, especially from alcohol or benzodiazepine, like Xanax, can be very dangerous. Do NOT attempt to quit ‘cold turkey’ at home. If you’re unsure, call us for a private phone assessment and we can help arrange a safe detox before withdrawal becomes severe.
What if someone needs rehab but they won't go?
This situation is heartbreaking, but it’s common. A family‑led intervention can help, and sometimes it’s the safest way to encourage treatment.
Whenever possible, we suggest working with a professional interventionist. Their guidance often leads to better outcomes and a calmer, more supportive process.
You’re not alone. Paradigm Recovery Centers can connect you with a trusted interventionist and offer resources for your whole family
If hiring a professional to stage an intervention isn’t possible, we recommend getting a book on intervention and following it to the letter.
Love First: A Family’s Guide to Intervention by Jeff & Debra Jay, is widely considered the most practical, compassionate, and effective guide for families preparing an intervention.
It’s best if someone who is not related to the person leads the intervention. If you can’t hire a pro, someone who the person trusts and respects can be a good alternative. A former teacher or coach. A pastor, priest or rabbi, etc.
How do I know if our insurance will cover rehab?
Paradigm Recovery Centers works with most major private health insurance companies. The best way to find out if we work with your plan here is to submit your insurance info through our secure portal here. We will verify your benefits and call you back for next steps.
ALL insurance plans in the U.S. are required by law to offer some substance abuse treatment coverage. When we verify your benefits, we’ll let you know if we work with your plan and what to expect as far as deductibles (if not met yet) and any potential out-of-pocket costs.
If for any reason, we can’t work with your insurance plan here and you don’t have the means to self-pay for treatment, your Admissions Coordinator will be happy to provide you with an appropriate referral.
How long is alcohol and drug rehab?
The amount of addiction treatment needed varies from person to person. It depends on factors like:
- What substances they use and how much.
- How long they have been using drugs/alcohol.
- If they also have a mental health condition.
- Past treatment history or recurrences in use (relapses)
We recommend keeping an open mind. Remember that you can’t get “too much help” for a problem like addiction, but the consequences of getting too little help can be serious.
Most people benefit from a minimum of 4 weeks in treatment. That may include a mix of detox, residential treatment and outpatient treatment like PHP or IOP.
If you are able to continue treatment for a total of 60 or even 90 days, we recommend considering it. Your personal treatment plan will have specific recommendations for you.
If you have any more questions about the length of drug and alcohol treatment, give us a call.
Can I go to rehab without losing my job?
Addiction is a medical issue, like diabetes or heart disease. You are entitled to medical treatment for addiction.
If you meet the qualifications, you can apply for FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) protection which can give you up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave per year. There is paperwork involved and you will need to speak to your HR department. But your privacy is protected.
Basic FMLA Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, an employee must:
- Work for a covered employer (public agencies, schools, or private employers with 50+ employees)
- Have at least 12 months of employment with that employer
- Have worked 1,250 hours in the past 12 months
- Work at a location with 50+ employees within 75 miles
Give us a call if you have questions about using FMLA to go to residential treatment at Paradigm Recovery Centers. We also recommend checking out the Department of Labor’s FMLA FAQ page.
